Spiffy Dog Sponsors The Crazy Dog Challenge in Steamboat Springs which is part of the Yampa River Festival. Friends of the Yampa, a coalition of river runners and stewards, hosts the Yampa River Festival, which starts today and runs through Sunday. Members of the group divvy up responsibilities and hold a string of weekend competitions that test everything from the strongest paddlers and the longest fly-casters to the fastest dogs. This newspaper is the daily newspaper for Steamboat Springs in Colorado, the home of Spiffy Dog. On 13th April 2008, Dave Shively filed this doggy story that told where Spiffy Dog came from and why Spiffy Dog collars are being worn by dogs both sides of the Atlantic.

SPIFFY DOG AIR COLLARS By Eric Peterson
Spiffy Dog evolved from Fat Eddie’s, a technical clothing company founded in 2002 by John Cardillo and Edward Watson. Both founders are outdoors nuts and dog owners, and that led them to make their own pets collars out of aerospace nylon that is lightweight, breathable, comfortable and odor-free.

“It’s specific for your active dog that spends a lot of time in the water,” said Kyle Nelson, sales and marketing assistant. The collars bear designs ranging from skulls (“for your tough dog,” Nelson said) to the logos of ski resorts to peace signs. The company also makes leashes, collapsible water bowls and other dog accessories.

This digital magazine has been extremely well received by members of the pet trade for over 2 years. They distribute a unique, environmentally friendly, digital magazine providing up to date news, product reviews and features based on the hot topics in the pet trade. In July this year they featured Spiffy Dog as a news item

 

 

 

 

 

The Year’s Best Dog Stuff

Each year manufacturers inundate their office with new dog products. The can’t even begin to count how many arrive over the course of a 12-month period.

They cull through them to decide which should appear in their NewStuff columns each month. Then, once each year, they seek out those that are unique or innovative. The editors at their sister dog magazines and product editors join them to dig through the entries and vote.
